"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer."
John F. Kennedy
As you can see from my biography, my career and life experience has been broad and varied, following neither a linear nor singular track. It has both blessed me and kept me humble. I believe my successes and setbacks have made me a stronger candidate. As your council member, I will bring my small business, finance, and corporate experiences to serve the people of Redmond and help solve issues our community faces. Additionally, I will do everything in my power to provide city services to all, as cost effectively as possible. Finally, as a member of the military, I proudly took the oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States” and I promise to take the same approach in serving our city. I will not forget the people who elect me to represent them. I look forward to being afforded the opportunity to make a difference and I thank you for your support!
For nearly 30 years I have called Redmond my home. With my wife by my side, I have raised two awesome children and have attended Timberlake Church in Redmond for much of that time. As an active volunteer in our community, I have participated as a youth coach for nearly every sport, been a fundraiser for private schools, a Sunday school teacher, a greeter and safety team member at church, and have taken part in mission trips to both Haiti and Bolivia. I have helped organize and lead a support group for families of at-risk youth. Sharing in a love for animals, our family has fostered a number of dogs over the years including our most recent addition, Gus the Rottweiler.
Through a number of coincidences or minor miracles, I met the love of my life at an airport in middle America en route to Germany where she too was serving in the United States Air Force. Thankfully, after dating for 14 months, she agreed to marry me and we have been blessed with 36 years of marriage and counting. She has been by my side through both the good times and the bad, and definitely made me a better man, husband, and father.

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
After returning to the Pacific Northwest, we settled down in Spokane where I completed my undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University’s School of Business. While attending Gonzaga, I leveraged a summer construction job into a 10-year career with the company, rising to the position of Vice President. My wife and I returned to Seattle and ultimately selected Redmond as the place where we would raise our family and build our lives.
I was born and raised in Seattle. As a youth, to earn money I delivered newspapers, recycled aluminum cans, provided janitorial services, worked as a detailer at Brown Bear Car Wash, worked in fast food and other restaurants, performed residential construction, and worked as a commercial salmon fisherman in Alaska. After a short time in community college, I joined the United States Air Force, honorably serving my country for five years on military institutions both domestically and abroad.
As a resident of Redmond, I spent nearly 15 years self-employed in construction, manufacturing, “main street” mergers and acquisitions, and business valuations. I earned a Master’s in the Science of Finance from Seattle University. Sadly, the Great Recession of 2008 took its toll, and by late 2013 I had left the American dream and self-employment in search of another challenge. For the past seven years, I have been an employee at The Boeing Company working as a financial analyst.
